Liverpool confirmed Luis Diaz signing

Liverpool has confirmed the Sign of Colombian attacker Luis Díaz from Porto.

The 25-year-old joins the Reds on a long-term deal, reportedly for five years, from Sergio Conceicao’s side, and will wear the number 23 shirt at Anfield.

Porto will reportedly receive up to £50m from the sale of Diaz, who is leaving the club after registering 41 goals and 19 assists in 125 games for the club in all competitions.

The Colombia international was originally thought to be headed to Tottenham Hotspur, but he reportedly had his heart set on a move to Liverpool as he becomes the Reds’ first signing in the January window.

Díaz turned heads with 14 goals and five assists in 18 Primeira Liga appearances during the first half of the 2021–22 season and faced Liverpool twice in the Champions League group stage.

The former Barranquilla striker is currently preparing for Colombia’s 2022 World Cup Qualifying clash with Argentina on Tuesday and could make his debut for the Reds in the FA Cup fourth round against Cardiff City on February 6.
