What is the USA's FIFA world rankings

The US men’s national team rode a roller coaster during the CONCACAF World Cup regional qualifiers, but eventually qualified for the 2022 World Cup.

In the latest FIFA Men’s World Rankings released on April 24 after the international window at the end of March, the United States dropped two places to 15th in the world (down from 13th in February and 11th in January).

In early 2022, CONCACAF rivals Mexico overtook the United States, and El Troy also made it into the top 10. Canada, meanwhile, is ranked 38th in the world, moving up seven places after a clean sweep in the January matches.

The FIFA World Rankings for April are used to determine the top-seeded teams in the April 1 draw. The top seeds will be drawn in Pot 1, which includes the world’s top seven teams as well as the host country Qatar.

The U.S. rankings have knocked them out of the World Cup draw as a Pot 2 team, which do not go up enough in the list to become a Pot 1 team or go down enough to fall into a team from Pot 3 Can

Still, the 15th position is more than respectable for the United States, which is above Croatia, the runner-up in the 2018 World Cup.
