The more choices you have, the harder it is for you to choose. It’s happening in England, they have a lot of competition in every position because they have the number 1 league (Primer League) in the world which promotes their young talent and their young talent is also in competition.
We all know that Phil Foden has been awarded twice in 2021/22 for the best young talent. The 2022 award reflects his current performance which means he is eligible for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Now he plays his first World Cup which puts pressure on him but he has the experience of Premier League Champions 2022 (Manchester City) and many England matches.
Harry Kane, Bokaio Saka, Raheem Sterling, and Phil Foden are England’s first choice in the attacking department but Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, and Jack Grealish are not far behind so they have a chance for whatever reason.

According to the performing players, these players have the highest chances to play for England in the World Cup 2022 in Qatar.
Attackers
There are no doubts about the places of Raheem Sterling, Harry Kane, Bukayo Saka and Phil Foden in the 26-man squad.
Southgate will have some thinking to do to fill up the remaining slots in attack, though.
Jack Grealish’s creativity down the flank will be required, while Manchester United duo Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho also maybe in with a shout.
Jarrod Bowen and Ivan Toney are unlikely to be favourites to land a place, but are in with an outside chance.

England have a young and talented midfield that includes Mason Mount, Declan Rice and Jude Bellingham, while Jordan Henderson is an experienced head who should also be a straightforward choice for the England boss.
Kalvin Phillips is recovering from an injury and hasn’t played much for Manchester City, which will not be doing his chances any good.
Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher, Liverpool’s Harvey Elliott and Arsenal’s Emile-Smith Rowe are all potential surprise inclusions.

Defenders
Kyle Walker, Eric Dier and John Stones are likely to be among the first names on Southgate’s shortlist for defenders at the World Cup.
Harry Maguire and Trent Alexander-Arnold have surprisingly struggled this season so far but their exclusion remains unlikely due to the former’s experience and the latter’s creativity down the right-wing.
There are quite a few others such as Reece James, Kieran Tripper and Ben Chilwell who will expect to be there.
For players such as Ben White, Luke Shaw, Conor Coady and Tyrone Mings the next few weeks will be crucial in their attempts to convince Southgate.

Goalkeepers
Barring late drama, Everton’s Jordan Pickford will be on the flight to Qatar as Gareth Southgate’s No.1 in goal for England.
Newcastle United’s Nick Pope and the impressive Aaron Ramsdale will hope to put up a fight to compete with Pickford before the World Cup begins and should be on the 26-man squad.
Former Manchester United man Dean Henderson may fancy his chances of making the cut if Southgate opts for four goalkeepers, with Sam Johnstone and Fraser Forster not completely out of the picture yet either.

Managers
- Gareth Southgate OBE
How many players is England allowed to take to the 2022 World Cup?
It has been announced that 26-player squads will return for the Qatar World Cup, an expansion from the usual 23-man teams.
National managers were allowed to bring 26 players to last summer’s European Championship for the first time at a major tournament, as a special measure brought in due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to the fixture congestion, the expanded squads have returned this time around.
When will final England 2022 World Cup squad be announced?
Squads can in theory be announced at any time between now and the World Cup – but different nations will of course announce their selections at different times. Any time between Monday, October 17 and Friday, October 21 – the week that marks a month until the tournament starts – seems like the right time.
While this World Cup’s staging is a break from the traditional football calendar, World Cup squads are usually announced around six weeks prior to the tournament beginning. This may change with club football being played closer to the start date of the tournament.
